First HOOP DREAMS CLINIC in Abeokuta marks Major Milestone for Youth Basketball Initiative
A Beacon of Hope On and Off the Court
On October 25th 2025, the Clear Blue Water Foundation partnered with Xberg BEATs to host its inaugural HOOP DREAMS CLINIC in Abeokuta, Nigeria — an event that turned into a resounding success beyond expectations.
With youth participation exceeding initial projections, about 70 kids aged 6 to 16 gathered for a full day of basketball drills, friendly matches, laughter, and bonding. Coaches from the local community joined forces with organizers, showing immense dedication despite minimal compensation — powered solely by passion and purpose.
Thanks to generous donors from the XBerg BEATs Community, participants received brand-new shirts and pairs of shoes — many for the first time. Additionally, snacks and drinks ensured every player stayed energized and engaged throughout the day.
But perhaps most importantly, the event highlighted a significant hunger for structured athletics in underprivileged areas. Children not only demonstrated raw talent but a deep desire for consistent opportunities to learn, grow, and compete safely.

Looking Ahead: A Continent-Wide Vision
Buoyed by the overwhelming response in Abeokuta, the foundation now looks toward scaling the model across West Africa — and eventually, spread to further countries on the continent. The road ahead involves securing more gear, ensuring coach sustainability, funding nutritious meals during sessions, and ultimately establishing permanent, safe courts in underserved neighborhoods.
